  146. Installation general instruction If you received this version of ArtSaver
  147. Nature 1.04 in a ZIP file or self-extracting EXE, first extract the files
  148. to a blank floppy or a temporary directory in your hard drive.

  150. Installation Windows 3.1 -- To install the screen saver you just have to
  151. put the diskette (you can replace the diskette letter by the path name of
  152. your temporary directory) in drive A: or B: and from the Program Manager
  153. menu chose File> Run  and type A: or B:setup. The program will ask you to
  154. confirm the location of your Directory and then, it will install all the
  155. necessary files. In order to activate the ArtSaver screen saver program,
  156. you will have to access your Control Panel, then Desktop, in the Screen
  157. Saver section choose ArtSaver« and after choosing the proper delay click
  158. OK. The screen saver will start the showing each picture for
  159. approximately 5 sec. Each picture is shown with many transition and
  160. dissolved effects giving this screen saver a unique artistic quality. To
  161. see how you can change the duration and sequence of the picture please
  162. read the setup section.

  179. Setup Options-- In the screen saver setup you can change the amount of
  180. time in second each picture will be view in the slide show. You can also
  181. choose to have the screen saver picture's section to  appear in a random
  182. sequence. To access the Setup from Windows 3.1 you will have to access
  183. your Control Panel, then Desktop, in the Screen Saver section choose
  184. Setup. You can  then choose the proper delay in second for each picture
  185. and if you want them to appear in random sequence. To access the Setup
  186. from Windows 95 you will have select the Start button, then Setting, to
  187. access your Control Panel, then Display, in the Screen Saver section
  188. choose Setting. You can then choose the proper delay in second for each
  189. picture and if you want them to appear in random sequence.

  191. Screen Colors -- The program will automatically detect the number of
  192. colors your screen can display. The program may not detect correctly some
  193. display card color depth and this may cause the display to show bad
  194. colors. You can correct this in the Setup section by choosing a lower
  195. value for the number of colors supported for your screen. Please note
  196. that the pictures are in True Colors (24-bit) and will be display with a
  197. lower quality if you choose 256 colors. The screen saver will not work on
  198. 16 color's resolution display.

  200. Password -- Password protection is available by a button click in the
  201. setup program.  As with any password protection for a screen saver, be
  202. careful not to lose the password.  If you do you can delete the password
  203. by editing "control.ini" in Windows directory: in section "[Screen
  204. Saver.ArtSaver]".  You can simply delete the line with "Password=". This
  205. program has the same password limitations as with any screen saver:
  206.  
  207.  1.  It does not prevent completely rebooting the PC.
  208.  2.  Password protection can be defeated by editing "control.ini".
  209.  3.  Do not forget your password or you will have to do steps 1 and 2.

  211.  The screen saver password protection only stops casual users from bother
  212. ing with your
  213. PC.  It will also prevent other users from accessing your network files
  214. if those are also password protected
  215.  
  216. Version changes:
  217. Version 1.01 corrects a bug in the registration number.
  218. Version 1.02 speeds the screen restoration during key interrupt.
  219. Version 1.03 fixes one picture that freeze during screen restoration.
  220. Version 1.04 modification in the help files,decrease sensitivity to
  221.         mouse mouvement and remove the close, min. and max. buttons in
